Top 10 ways to get people online to read your Business Blog

by: Evelyn Lim
There are many advantages of running a blog, on top of your business website. A blog is an online diary, whereby you can easily posts clips about yourself, your thoughts and your personal life. If you publish a business blog, you posts good content, articles, breaking news or just about anything to build awareness of what you are selling.

Publishing a business blog gives your subscriber or prospect a chance to get to know you better. Through your blog, you can explain how your life has changed due to the product or service that you are selling. A blog can also be highly interactive if you also allow comments and for all to see. For sure, blogging provides a good avenue to establish some level of trust and security for an online prospect who has never met you.

Here are top 10 ways to get people to read your business blog:

1. Have a general theme and state this theme at the top or in a prominent location in your blog. Creating a general theme helps attract a group of targeted readers. However, do strike a balance. You don’t also want too narrow a theme. Otherwise, you may find yourself having difficulty finding new things to talk about in your blog every few days.

2. Be current in what you post. Don’t report about events that happen one year ago. You can refer to the particular event if relevant and/or via a link. For these past events, assume that people already know about them.

3. Keep a regular schedule. When readers return to your blog, they want to read about something new. Be sure to manage your readers’ expectations.

4. Post frequently. Search engine spiders love sites that are constantly updated with fresh content. At the very least, posting once every few days is a good idea.

5. Keep your posts short and clear. Don’t post long essays. Blog readers are known to like to zip in and out of online diaries. Keep your long essays to articles that you can publish on a separate webpage or in your newsletter.

6. Make your tittle keyword-rich. This helps in getting your posts better ranked by search engine spiders via the keywords that you use.

7. Post interesting content. No one is going to be interested in what you ate for breakfast. Not unless you are maintaining a food blog and you want to post your breakfast recipe!
Making your content interesting will ensure that your readers continue to read your blog loyally.

8. Have a unique perspective. Readers are interested to know what you think. If you are offering your opinion, be sure that you are able to qualify them.

9. Take note of your language and grammer. Even if you are posting an opinion. It is always safer to write in proper English if you are hoping to monetize from your blog.

10. Don’t forget to have a RSS feed. RSS means “Rich Site Syndication”. To increase readership and distribution, this is one thing that you must not omit in doing.

To Blog or Not to Blog...

“To Blog or not to Blog…”

Terry Dashner………………………….Faith Fellowship Church PO Box 1586 Broken Arrow, OK 74013

It’s entitled, Blog {Understanding The Information Reformation That’s Changing Your World} (Nelson Books 2005). His name is Hugh Hewitt, and he’s written something worth reading, especially if you’re interested in impact. Allow me to continue.

Listen to this: “Since HughHewitt.com was launched in early 2002, more than ten million people have visited his site (seven million just since the beginning of 2004). ‘Why does this visitor traffic matter?’ asks Hewitt. ‘People’s attentions are up for grabs. If you depend upon the steady trust of others, suddenly you have an audience waiting to hear from you.’ The race is underway, though, to gain mindspace and to be part of readers’ habits. If your organization has not established itself in blogosphere, now is the time to move ahead, but quickly!”

I agree. God has provided a powerful weapon in our arsenal of faith. Disseminating words is powerful. And when the words disseminated are wise and informative, they become a mighty gun against the forces of ignorance, prejudice, foolishness, stupidity, immaturity… (Pardon me. I got carried away). Many of you have heard me preach. Some of you have heard me say that the most powerful medium to change the hearts of men has been, and will always be—the written and disseminated word. Why do I say that? Because it is true, and I like speaking truth. I sleep better at night, having spoken truth throughout the daytime.

The church has gotten it wrong. It isn’t the western televangelist that’s going to win the Muslim to Jesus Christ. A testimony of a Muslim turning to Jesus, written down on a leaflet or pamphlet and disseminate widely will. Don’t get me wrong. There are some good TV evangelists who love God and do a good work for the church; however, the medium of television is too expensive, too impractical to win the world for Jesus. Missionaries on the ground and armed with videos, pamphlets, and medicine will do the “greater works.” (I know I’m opinionated; but at 50 I’ve earned the right. If it’s too much for you, use the delete key that God gave your computer.)

Mr. Hewitt did a wonderful job telling the story of Martin Luther, the great Reformer, and how his writings—widely disseminated because of the newly invented movable type—changed the world. He did a remarkable feat in sharing his vision of the future for disseminating information around the world via the Blogger. I recommend you read his book today and start blogging tomorrow.

The Old Testament prophet Daniel spoke of a day when knowledge would increase, explode on the scene as it were. The Apostle Paul spoke of a day when people would run “to and fro” looking for something new. I understand these remarks in a good way. Today is a day that people want good, wholesome, challenging, well researched, information. I believe today is the day for believers everywhere to unit and Blog. Let’s Blog them into the Kingdom of righteousness!

Remember, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” John 1:1.

Keep the faith. Stay the course. Jesus is coming soon. But until He does, get the word out!

40,000 new blogs are started daily - how your web hosting bu

The fact that an estimated 40,000 new blogs are being started daily should be of great interest to anybody already in the web hosting business or intending to go into it. Especially those planning to go into the business as affiliates or as resellers because this group of online entrepreneurs are in a very good position to cash in quickly on this amazing growth rate of blogs with hardly any investment necessary.
While it is true that a vast majority of blogs are hosted free, it is also true that many blogs are gaining high traffic so quickly that they are forced to quickly find paid web hosting as they exceed their allocated bandwidth.
The other fact to bear in mind is that virtually all successful bloggers own several blogs. This is significant because it is not easy to own several websites since lots of technical know-how and time are required to maintain a single website, let alone several. This is not the case with a blog that mainly requires content and very little technical knowledge to run very successfully. In terms of business volumes this simply means that a web hosting business that targets blogs is bound to grow a lot faster than the one that only seeks clients from the ranks of traditional websites.
The other significant factor in blogs that should be of great benefit to any web hosting business is the huge traffic that blogs seem to enjoy almost effortlessly.
All a web host entrepreneur needs to do, is to find a way to advertise their web hosting services to this blog traffic. There are several ways of doing this. You can for example look for acceptable ways of creating as many links from the blogs to your web hosting sites as possible. You can even start your very own blog on the subject. About the Author

Blog Your Business

Does your business need a blog?

A blog is a Web log, an online journal. Blogs started out as
online diaries, in which diarists shared their everyday lives
with the world. From their beginnings as a weird Web fad in 1998,
blogs have moved on, and are well on the way to becoming a
standard business tool.

Why? Because in February 2003 Google.com bought Pyra Labs, the
company which owns the Blogger weblogging tool. Blogger.com, one
of the main sites providing blog software and hosting, boasted a
million hosted web logs in early 2003.

Google.com's interest in blogs indicates that blogs are
mainstream. A blog help your business in many ways, depending on
whether you create a private or a public blog. Blogs are so
useful that you'll want to create both.

=> Your business's private, internal blog

These days, no one works alone. Even if you're a solo business
operator, you have colleagues --- partners, contractors, and
suppliers with whom you communicate daily. A private blog makes
working with a group easier, because you can streamline your
interactions, saving time and energy.

A private blog can contain notes to yourself, or to colleagues.
It's a place to store information and tips that might not warrant
a special email message. You can post information like meeting
notes, project tasks and summaries, and updated price lists. You
can also post links to large files --- no need to email, fax, or
mail them to and fro.

Your blog is more useful than email, because blog postings are
dated, and easily searchable. You can post a message you want
everyone to read, and the message stays on the blog. With email,
you read and delete, or read and forget.

If you've worked on a project with someone in another state or on
the other side of the world, you've blessed email, because it
makes sharing information so easy. Using a blog to share
information is even easier than using email.

=> Your business's public blog

A business blog is a marketing tool. A blog can add value to your
Web site, or it can take the place of a Web site. Look on it as a
combination "What's New" Web site page, and an online journal.
Because of a blog's freewheeling nature, it's friendly and
relaxed.

If you don't have a site, your blog's a place to put your online
CV, portfolio and client list. You can, and should, use your blog
to express your personality and expertise.

If you have a Web site, your blog page builds loyalty, because
if you provide interesting content, your visitors will return to
your site. And because it's a Web page, your blog will appear on
search engines, attracting new clients.

Google has been treating blogs differently from other Web pages
for a couple of years. Whereas it takes a standard Web page/ site
a month to be indexed by Google, blogs are indexed daily. This
means that your blog is mega-cheap advertising. You can post
something on your blog and have it indexed by Google within a
day.

Will creating a blog help your business? As I suggested in the
article: "Get Googled And Build Credibility", because Google.com
is so popular and indexes so comprehensively, if you focus some
of your marketing and promotion time on getting your name out on
the Web, you're building your credibility, both online and
offline.
